It is always with intrepidation that a project such as this is undertaken, as choosing the right company is vital especially at the present time, which is why we were so pleased at having made the decision to use Arthur and his team. Please accept our sincere thanks for the great job, you and your team did in creating the new entrance to our home. I was concerned about having this work done as there are so many cowboys offering electric gates and we always like to work from personal recommendation. Sadly we had none amongst our friends and family, but were very impressed by the glowing testimonials on your own site. Now the job is completed I'm very happy to say that our own experience of Arkwrought Iron Works has also been exceptional.

Right from the beginning, you were able to offer advice to us in terms of design, and the preparation of CAD drawings of our final gate design was invaluable for our planning application. This was necessary in our case as our driveway and entrance are crossed by a public footpath. Once the work started it was obvious you were well equipped with quality tools which matched the level of workmanship of the finished product. The groundwork was done very quickly, yet we still had access in and out of our property whilst the work was underway. If you remember, most of this work was done under a portable gazebo in torrential rain, which immediately filled the various trenches, highlighting the need for an additional soak away to prevent the motor boxes filling with water.

Nothing was too much trouble and Chris's work in fabricating the gates themselves was outstanding. Tommy's brickwork was very neat and square in every direction, despite the pillars being 16' apart. Once the capping stones went on, we could see how the entrance would look. The final part was the installation of the gates themselves and I'm pleased to say, the quality of the powder coating was certainly on a par with the rest of the work.

I would have no hesitation in recommending you for any similar work. Your work was competitive and yet the quality was high and attention to detail outstanding.

A big thank you on completion of our gates and railings. Despite the snow and rain, the installation went incredibly smoothly. Your attention to detail was really appreciated, especially as we had problems with differing land levels which you solved such that you now can’t tell there was a problem to begin with.



We are very impressed with the wire free gate opening that works off a SIM card. It has been very useful for our teenage children to gain entry using their mobile phones. I approached you to quote on a new gate installation in the New Year (2009), you were the first of four companies I spoke with over several months on the potential solutions I could install, you set the benchmark. You understood my access requirements, considering the proximity to the main road, access for my children returning from school, the need to manoeuvre the RIB trailer, the dog and security considerations.
Having conducted your site survey your proposed solution met my requirement.
